The Motability Scheme at Pulman
What is the Motability Scheme?
Motability is a registered charity, which helps disabled people, and their families become mobile with the aid of cars and powered wheelchairs. Set up as a government initiative in 1977, the scheme now has almost 400,000 customers and is the leading car scheme for disabled people. That's why we're delighted to be supporting the National Motability Charity.

Am I eligible for Motability support?
To be eligible for a car through the Motability scheme, you must be in receipt of the following:
- A higher rate component of the Disability Allowance (DLA)
- A War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
- Either of these allowances can be used towards the cost of a motability vehicle.
- However it must be awarded for long enough to cover the complete agreement.
- Non-drivers and children, travelling as passengers, are also eligible for a vehicle.
- They too need to be in receipt of one of the allowances above.
Customers exchange their allowance for a worry-free mobility package, including:
- Car, powered wheelchair or scooter
- Insurance
- Servicing
- Tyres
- Breakdown Cover
- Adaptations and wheelchair accessible vehicles are also available.
